Sarrebourg is a city turned to the culture with a major site : The Parcours Chagall.
The Parcours Chagall : two locations
The Sarrebourg Regional Museum : contemporary architecture for an artistic and historic way : circular main staircase, zenithal light and perspectives opening on the works and on the city and the tapestry “La Paix” by Yvette Cauquil-Prince according to the work of Marc Chagall. ( The tapestry is lent to the Centre Pompidou Metz until mid-March 2021.)
Archeology, history of sarrebourg, earthenware and china collection from the XVIIIth century, historic and contemporary art, temporary exhibitions…
The “Chapelle des Cordeliers” : The stained glass window “La Paix” (Peace), exceptional work of the artist Marc Chagall, transfigures this XIIIth century Franciscan chapel.
This 12 meters high stained-glass window is the biggest ever conceived by Chagall. It is surrounded with side stained-glass windows.
The garden : an invitation to dream and meditate. The voice of Chagall, his poems and the poems of his friends gave rhythm to this space (audio guides free).
