Histoire de la ville de Sarrebourg

Sarrebourg : A bimillenary city

The city of Sarrebourg has a very rich ancient history, which has left many traces that still remain in the city.

In the Middle Ages, the city went through a period of great prosperity, explaining why it was nicknamed “Sarrebourg, the Trading city” (Sarrebourg la Marchande).

Throughout history Sarrebourg has been annexed by the French, then by Germans and after the First Wold War definitively became French again.

Sarrebourg is a city turned to the culture with a major site : The Parcours Chagall.

The Parcours Chagall : two locations

Since 38 years, Sainte-Croix wildlife park leads you on the footsteps of 1500 wild and domestic animals living in semi-liberty on 120 000 square meters of preserved nature.
