The cinema was built in 1912 and belongs to the Art Nouveau movement. It is an international artistic movement and its design depends on the cultural features of each country. As a result, countless names and nicknames were given to this movement in many countries: Modern style in France, Jungend-Stil in Germany and Tiffany style in the United States. This building belongs more specifically to the Vienna Secession (an art movement closely related to Art Nouveau). This movement consists of straight lines and empty spaces whereas curved lines and floral elements are typical from the Art Nouveau movement.
This building is part of the Historical Trail of Sarrebourg. A brochure is available at the tourist Office.
