The Gallo-Roman cemetery in Walscheid, with its fence and mossy stelae, is the only remnant of a Gallo-Roman village. At the time of the Pax Romana, a large Gallo-Roman population lived here. The Roman Empire built a lot and the Vosges provided the necessary wood and stones.
