HERITAGE HOUSE - FÉNÉTRANGE

The Maison du Patrimoine is a testimony of Fenetrange's lifestyle during the second half of the 19th Century: a prosperous period of time as they were a lot of craftsmen and shopkeepers living there. Marie, spinning linen and hemp, and her daughter Kättele, preparing some "oublie" (a sort of waffle) in the fireplace, are waiting for you in the main room called "La Belle Pièce" (The beautiful room). Come to admire the beautiful earthenwares from Lorraine and the potteries from Alsace surrounding the two women. Louis the wheelwright is working in his workshop while Martin the carpenter is introducing you to the Biewerschwänz tiles, which used to be made in Fénétrange. Open from July to August, on Sundays between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Otherwise, you have to book your visit by email: si.fenetrange@orange.fr or by calling the Syndicat d'Initiative: 03 87 07 55 05 or 03 87 07 65 83.
